Rivers CP, Mbu, 12 others redeployed

The Police Service Commission (PSC) yesterday approved the re-deployment of the Rivers state Police Commissioner (CP), Mr. Mbu Joseph Mbu and 12 others to various Commands across the country.

A statement by the commission’s Assistant Director Press, Mr. Ferdinand Ekpe, said the re-deployment which was based on the recommendation of the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mohammed Abubakar, has the CP Rivers state who had been at a loggerheads with the state governor heading the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police command.

Similarly, CP Ambrose Aisabo who was in charge of Ports Authority Police Command, Lagos was deployed to the Kwara state Police Command, Felix Uyanya who was Commandant Police College, heads Ekiti Police Command and Johnson Ogunsaki of the Special Fraud Unit (SFU), Lagos, replaces CP Mbu at the Rivers state Police Command.

Others re-deployed include Abdulmajid Ali, in charge of Anti Bomb Unit becomes CP Imo State Police Command, Benjamin Onwuka, Deputy Commandant Police Staff College, Jos, takes over as CP, Kebbi state Command; Ibrahim of the Force Headquarters (FHQ), Abuja, CP Osun state, while Adamu Ibrahim, Deputy Force Secretary becomes CP, Abia State.

Aderenle Shinaba of Force Headquarters becomes CP, Kano state; Umar Shehu of Nasarawa state and A.J. Abakasanya of Information Technology, take over at the Kaduna and Adamawa State Police Commands respectively, while Kalefite Adeyemi and Ibrahim idris, both of FHQ, Abuja, head Taraba and Nasarawa Police Commands, respectively.

The assistant director disclosed that chairman of the PSC, Sir Mike Okiro, has admonished the redeployed officers to put in their best in their various commands so as to provide a secure environment for business and life to thrive.
