Rivers Hoopers extend winning streak to seven in NBBF President Cup

Rivers Hoopers shook off a sluggish start to rout Benue Braves 91-66 on Thursday at the NBBF President Cup Final 8 at the Indoor Sports Hall of the National Stadium, Lagos.

A determined Braves took a 22-19 lead to the second quarter and didn’t look weary despite arriving  Lagos in the wee hours of Thursday morning.

The KingsMen outscored Braves 22-14 to lead by five going to the break. The second half was a different ball game as Hoopers came out blazing in the third quarter and remained in control till the end of the game.

Victor Anthony had a double-double 11 points and 10 rebounds. He made 50% from the field and from the free throw line.

Abdul Yahaya had a game high 19 points, eight rebounds and hit a pair of clutch 3-pointers in the game for Rivers Hoopers who are yet to lose a game in the NBBF President Cup. 

Solomon Ajegbeyi added 14 points and eight rebounds while Emmanuel Balogun shot 12 points.
