Rivers: PDP wins all constituencies after supplementary election, secures 31 seats, SDP gets 1 in state assembly

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has cleared election results in all the four constituencies where the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) conducted  House of Assembly supplementary polls in Rivers State on Saturday.

INEC declared on Sunday that PDP’s candidates won all the elections and were returned elected.

The elections were conducted in Abua/Odual, Ahoada West, Gokana and Opobo/Nkoro Local Government Areas.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) cancelled the March 9, 2019 Assembly elections in the areas following electoral violence.

INEC Sunday declared Sokolo Solomon, winner of the Abua/Odual constituency with 55, 944 votes.

In Ahoada-west LGA, Okpokiri Nwanaka polled 32,574, to clinch victory.

Also, Dumle Maol of Gokana constituency was declared winner after scoring 55,319 votes.

The House of Assembly seat for Opobo/Nkoro constituency was won by Adonye Diri after he had scored 7,713.

PDP now has a total of 31 seats in the State House of Assembly while the Social Democratic Party (SDP) has one.
