RMRDC DG bags peace award for supporting youth

The director general Raw Materials Research and Development Council (RMRDC), Prof Hussaini Doko Ibrahim on Wednesday, in Abuja was presented with a peace trophy by a branch of the National Youth Council of Nigeria known as ‘’Youth – Go – For – Peace’’ at the Council’s headquarters in Abuja.

While intimating the director general on their visit to his office, the Team Lead of the group and member, Board of Trustee of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, Mr. Oscar David Kalu, stated that all the youths came together to accept that to promote peace in the country, Nigeria is better together as one, hence the need to identify people who have impacted the lives of youths came up.

He stated that five thousand people were nominated from around the country as hero’s and DG’s name was shortlisted.

In in response, the director general RMRDC, Prof. Hussaini Doko Ibrahim said the youth are the future of tomorrow, that is why RMRDC is proud to be one of the Parastatals that accepts the highest amount of youth, especially Corps members, IT students, interns, not to mention the retaining of most corps members who did their NYSC in RMRDC.

“I support your vision and mission and very honored for nominating me as one of your potential awardees. I sincerely believe we can work together for the progress of Nigeria. I will continue to work with you as an individual, RMRDC boss, and as an organisation.

“There have been a lot of youths here employed working here. Without mixing words, I don’t think any organisation has surpassed the number of employing youths like we have and we do this with the aim to be able to provide an entrepreneur training and some other things for future, not only to come in search of jobs here being a diversified organisation supporting a diversified administration, we need to get Nigeria together and to get the needful experience and we can boast even in IT that no organisation has surpassed us in that regards i.e. innovation level.

“There are so many programme we engage youths in and promote unity because only in this stance that we can sit and ponder as one to push this country forward and if this begins to unfold amongst our youths, certainly Nigeria will have a good future,” he stressed.
