Robbery attack on Abuja bound train untrue, says NRC

The Nigeria Railway Corporation Thursday described as malicious and untrue reports of a robbery attack on an Abuja bound train from the NRC station in Kaduna.

Reports emerged Thursday morning that armed men who were suspected to be kidnappers had attacked coaches of a train with guns and other dangerous weapons.

The reports said that the train had departed the Rigassa train station at about 10 am enroute Abuja but came under attack few kilometres to a town called Katari, which is seventy kilometres to Abuja.

Reacting to the reports, deputy director of public relations of NRC, MrYakoub Mahmoud told our correspondent in Lagos in a telephone conversation that the  story is the figment of the rumour monger’s imaginations.
