RTEAN flags off martial parade, harps on reforms in transportation sector 

The Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria (RTEAN) has flagged off martial parade in Abuja with a call for unity and understanding among players in transportation sector. 

In his opening remarks, the national president of RTEAN, Alh. (Dr.) Mohammed Maitakobi said the union is committed to reforms in the transportation sector.

Dr. Maitakobi stated that his team was determined to pursue the goals with the required vigour “to ensure the actualisation of our mandate within reasonable time.

“I invite well meaning individuals, corporate bodies to join us in our bid to contribute our quota to the development of Nigeria through the transportation sector,” he said. 

Also speaking, Deputy Logistics and Planning, Kogi branch, Mr. Laja Balola, said, “I and my chairman Mr. Ige Abiodun Ajagun are here to partake in the parade. We thank God for our able National President, Alh. Musa Maitakobi for upgrading RTEAN to where it is today, RTEAN was not recognised before, but with the efforts of our National President we are well recognised and respected in the country now.”

Mr. Ajagun also commended the national president for putting the event together and creating the awareness, charging all RTEAN branches across the country to continue to give the national president the needed support to enable him continue the good work he has started.

He however lamented that, Nigeria which is among the oil producing giants in the world, is experiencing fuel scarcity.

“We pray that government should resolve the problem so that we can have steady supply of fuel in the country,” he said.

The occasion, which was attended by all RTEAN branches across the country, attracted many dignitaries including the Minister of State for Transportation, Senator Gbemisola Rukkayyat Saraki, who was represented by a director in the ministry.
