RUGA: Group call for suspension of PDP BOT chairman

Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council (OYC) worldwide Thursday, called on Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) to suspend its Board of Trustees (BOT) Chairman, Senator Walil Jubril for supporting the Ruga settlement which was proposed by the federal government but suspended following public condemnation.

Jubril was reported to have openly declared that the suspended Ruga settlement for herdsmen will bring stability to the country and end incessant farmers/herders clashes across the country.

But the youth group said the PDP BoT chair indulged in anti-party activity by supporting the suspended federal government policy.

In a statement issued by its  President General,  Mazi okechukwu isiguzoro, the group accused Walil of supporting the suspended policy in an attempt to use it to  intimidate and harass PDP governors in the south into adopting it in the South.

“Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide is not partisan and will not dictate how PDP run their affairs, but it’s an open secret that PDP BOT chairman Senator Walil Jubril is engaging in anti-party activities, and PDP Governors forum should facilitate the machinery to investigate his secret activities and do the needful through recommendation for the suspension of Sen Walil Jubril and relieve him of his position if found guilty based on anti-party activities.
