Ruling by subjugation

What does it take to be a leader of all the people of the country if not that it starts with insisting on competence and merit? Once you decide that it’s all about surrounding yourself with competent and best minds, you have gone the leadership journey halfway already.
The rest will be getting the best results. But when a leader decides to surround themselves with their own ethnic and religious people, then all they have done is surround themselves with narrow-minded gossips; with gossip being the only thing taking place once they meet. Worsening the situation is when the leader decides to give development preference to their so-called people as well as lopsided public employment to these same people. Unfortunately, they have knowingly or unknowingly ended up making them less competitive and overly dependent on government’s largesse.
Unknowingly, if it’s possible they don’t know, they have also blocked the chances of their group’s best and gifted entrepreneurs too from becoming those star inventors and innovators they were created to be. Just think about it: How would the Jews have produced their Rothschilds, Rockefellers, JP Morgans, Buffets, Bill Gates, etc. had it not been that they believed in competitive survival, where everyone has to work to earn their daily bread? And by being forced to fight over life’s everyday challenges, the best in the Jews are forced to manifest wherever they are.
Let’s also ask ourselves why are there are no beggars in the South-east, notwithstanding having suffered a devastating civil war? It’s simply because of the same culture of no free meals. Necessity, they say is the mother of all inventions. So, whoever is giving you free meal, please, be reminded that they are worse than what your worst enemies can do.
It is important that we note that all those who give free meals do to you, without you knowing it, is to use those free meals to ensure that people are conditioned in such a way that deprives them from putting on their thinking cap. Odilim Enwegbara, Abuja
