Corps members have continued to praise the introduction of Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) training programme that was introduced by the management of National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).
The programme, Blueprint gathered, is aimed at empowering them with development skills during their service year. At the closing ceremonies of the 2018 Batch ‘A’ Orientation Course for Corps members held at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Kubwa, on Wednesday, corps members expressed satisfaction with the measures in place to ensure that the three-week orientation course would “be of immense help to corps members, especially with SAED trainings.” One of the corps members, Mr. Franklin Ifeanyi Nwosu, said he would make use of the opportunity that NYSC afforded him, with the SAED trainings, to develop himself and be prepared for the future.
“I registered for training in Software and Hardware, as well as professional courses like Project Management, Human Resources Management and Customer Service Relationship under SAED. I intend to complete the different trainings once I settle down in my PPA, because it is an added advantage for me to explore other avenues. I have a B.Sc in Architecture, but without the basic skills, I don’t think I have what it takes to develop myself; so the professional programs under SAED will be of immense help to me in future.
