Sallah: NSCDC deploys personnel at flash points in Yobe


Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps NSCDC in Yobe state said it has deployed personnel at some flash points across the state to curb any security challenge that could occur while Muslims observe the Eid-El-Fitr Sallah celebration.

This was disclosed on Monday in Damaturu, by the State Commandant,
Ayinla Olowo while speaking to Blueprintcorrespondent on their level of
preparedness.

“We have identified some flash points that may experience security threats and dispatched our personnel there. These places include Geidam, Bunigari, among others”.

“Also our men will man all the eid grounds in the major cities of Nguru, Geidam, Damaturu, Gulani, Gashua, Yunusari and Potiskum”, he said.

The commandant further assured the residents to sleep with their two eyes closed as his men and the other security agencies are up to the task of providing the needful.

He therefore, solicited the cooperation of the law abiding citizens to inform the security agencies of any suspicious movement of persons
when noticed.

Yobe and other states in the northeast had been experiencing security threats on sallah days since the inception of the Boko Haram insurgency.
