Sani-Bello tasks new Kagara emir on banditry

Governor Abubakar Sabi Bello of Niger state has advised the new Emir of Kagara, Ahmad Gunna, to cooperate and work together with the state government in curbing security challenges in his domain.

The governor stated this Tuesday while presenting letter of appointment to the new emir at Government House, Minna. He said the appointment of the traditional ruler was not influenced by government.

He stated further that, “I received the new Emir of Kagara, Ahmad Gunna today and presented to him the letter of appointment as the second emir of Kagara. He was a staff of Niger state government. I emphasised that the state government never showed any interest in anyone in the selection of the new emir. It is the will of God that he becomes the emir of Kagara.”

While urging the new emir to rule the kingdom as a father to all his subjects with truth, fairness and justice, the governor reminded the new traditional ruler of the enormous responsibility ahead of his reign, particularly in the area of security challenges in his domain and the state in general.

Speaking with journalists after presenting the appointment letter to the new emir, the governor said, “I have drawn his attention to the security challenge in his domain, especially in Rafi local government and Kagara emirate and the need to work together to address these security challenges.”
