Sanusi rules out future religious crisis

Emir of Kano, Alhaji Muhammad Sanusi 11, has pledged that his reign will mark an end to inter- faith crisis and conflict in Kano state, declaring that he is committed to ensuring that justice to both Christians and Muslims in the state at all times.
The monarch spoke,  while hosting the leadership of the Christians Association of Nigeria, (CAN)Kano state chapter, who paid him a courtesy call in his palace.

Sanusi explained that as a Muslim leader, he is duty bound to ensure the safety of every life and property under his domain, irrespective of the faith and belief of the person involved, noting that he is mandated to give justice and fairness to whosoever deserves it.
He recalled his intervention in the Church crisis in Rogo town, adding that he, not only ordered for its  reconstruction, but had to personally bring out his money when he was not satisfied with the pace of the reconstruction exercise.

The Emir of Kano, who was grateful over the visit, sought for greater understanding, peace and harmony among the adherents of the two religions in the state, in Nigeria and in the globe, saying his doors were open to the Christian community in the state.
Speaking earlier, the leader of the Christian’s delegation and Chairman of the association, Bishop Ransom Bello, applauded the monarch for his fatherly disposition to matters that affect the Christian family in the state, describing him as a man of peace.

He was particularly grateful for the sense of urgency with which the monarch intervened in the burning of the Church in Rogo town , saying that the monarch not only brought the crisis under control and charged the local government council to rebuild the affected Church, but he also got the suspects arrested.
