Saraki empowers Kwara APC women leaders with N10.4m

President of the Senate, Dr. Bukola Saraki, has disbursed the sum of N10.4 million to 52 women leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara central. Each of the 52 women leaders went home with a cash of N200, 000 to assist them boost their trades. The Kwara central senatorial district, which Saraki represents, at the Senate comprises four local governments – Asa, Ilorin-South, Ilorin West and Ilorin East.
This comes a few days after Saraki offset 20 months’ salary areas owed 22O traditional chiefs in three local government areas in Kwara central. Presenting the largesse to the beneficiaries at the Abubakar Bukola Saraki’s (ABS) Mandate Constituency Office, Ilorin, the ABS Director-General, Alhaji Musa Abdullahi, said Saraki doled out the funds to assist the women boost their business and trades.
He said Saraki held women in high esteem “because of their positive contributions to the economy.” Abdullahi advised the beneficiaries to use the money for the intended purpose to enhance their standard of living. Also speaking, at the brief ceremony, a chieftain of the party, Hajia Muslimat Ibrahim, urged the women leaders to reciprocate the gesture by remaining loyal to the Senate president and the party. She told the excited beneficiaries to be wary of the antics of some politicians who would only come around during elections to seek their votes.
