Saraki: Kwara Assembly to investigate ownership of Alimi lodge.



The Kwara state House of Assembly has directed its Committee on Land Housing and Urban Development to investigate the alleged transfer of ownership of four bedroom Alimi Lodge to the immediate past Senate President Dr Bukola Saraki and report to the House on Thursday this week.
The resolution of the House was sequel to a Matter of General Importance raised by member representing Irepodun Constituency, Hon Omotayo Felix Awodiji, on the ownership of Alimi Lodge at the Floor of the House.


The Speaker, Engr. Yakubu Danladi Salihu, while reading the resolutions of the House, explained that the need for the House to investigate the matter became expedient in order to put an enduring end to all forms of abnormality in the state.
Awodiji, had while raising the Matter of General Public Importance, explained that the lodge which according to him was transfered to the former governor under the state Pension Law for governors and geputy Governors, said the lodge was not transferable as it was meant for the sitting Chief Executive of the state.


Other members who spoke on the matter, explained among other things, that due process was not observed and called for thorough investigation.
They pointed out that the alleged sales of the lodge was flagrant disobedience to the due process and constituted security risk to the Government House.
