Saraki, Lawan, Gbajabiamila, El-Rufai, others to grace National Pilot’s book launch (2)

President of the Senate, Dr Ahmed Lawan, his predecessor, Dr Bukola Saraki, and Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila are among the dignitaries expected to grace the book launch of an Ilorin- based newspaper, National Pilot in Lagos in April.

Managing Director and Editor-in-Chief of the paper, Billy Adedamola, in a statement issued on Monday said the book titled: “Roundtable Discussion On Economy And Restructuring In Nigeria,” will be launched at Sheraton Hotels, Ikeja Lagos on April 14, 2021.

According to him, a former President of the Senate, David Mark would chair the occasion, while the Kaduna state governor, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai will be the guest speaker. 

He said: “The Chairman, Nigeria Governors Forum, Dr. Kayode Fayemi leads other governors which include Prince Dapo Abiodun of Ogun state, Yahaya Bello of Kogi, Nyesom Wike of Rivers, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu and Engr. Seyi Makinde of Oyo, while Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos is the chief host.

“Other invitees are Minister for Works, Babatunde Fashola and that of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi. Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi and Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu Gambari are royal fathers of the day. Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yorubaland, Iba Gani Adams, Chief Olabode George, former Governors Gbenga Daniel, Ibikunle Amosun and Abdulfatah Ahmed are other top dignitaries expected to attend”.

On the book, he said: ‘What is the way out of the perennial economic crisis that is stifling the nation’s growth and development?  And how do we resolve the issue of restructuring that is fuelling ethnic tension and threatening national breakup? 

“These are the questions Nigerian leaders of thought,policy makers and major stakeholders will gather to tackle next month in Lagos at the public presentation of the book, Roundtable Discussion On Economy And Restructuring In Nigeria. 

“Published by the National Pilot newspapers, the book treats exhaustively, the twin issues of economy and restructuring and offer a way forward”.
