Saudi Arabia launches preparations for Hajj 2020



Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Hajj and Umrah Dr. Mohammed Saleh bin Taher Bentin has announced the launch of preparations for the next year’s Hajj season (Hajj 2020 corresponding to 1441 AH).
The minister made the announcement during a ceremony held by the ministry to honor the heads of the pilgrims’ affairs offices and guests of the 1440AH Grand Hajj Symposium (Haj 2019).


He said the ministry has already started to prepare for the next Hajj season while preparations for the Umrah season would begin during the next few days.
“The key focus of the preparations will be quality services to ensure the comfort and satisfaction of pilgrims and visitors of the Two Holy Mosques,” the minister said.
The ceremony featured speech of the heads of the pilgrims’ affairs offices delivered by Jordanian Minister of Awqaf, Islamic Affairs and Holy Places Dr. Abdul Nasser Abu Al-Basal.


In the speech, they commended Saudi Arabia’s efforts in providing services to the pilgrims, which had a great impact on the success of this year’s Hajj season.
They also prayed to Allah Almighty to perpetuate the blessing of security and safety in Saudi Arabia, under its prudent leadership.
Heads of the pilgrims’ affairs offices also expressed their satisfaction with the great projects and works as well as the executive plans that facilitated the pilgrims’ performance of their Hajj rituals and movements in the holy sites.


Hajj 2019 ended with Arafat Day falling on Saturday August 10, 2019.
Muslims perform Hajj every year in the month of Dhul Hijjah. The likely date of Hajj 2020 will be either on July 27 or 28, 2020. corresponding to 10th of Dhul Hijjah 1441 AH.
The confirmed date of Haj 2020 will be decided once the new moon of Dhul Hijjah – the last month of Islamic Calendar, is sighted.
