Schools re-opening: Oyo SUBEB trains 2,454 head teachers on Covid-19 protocols

The executive chairman, Oyo state Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Dr. Nureni Adeniran, on Friday said the board had trained 2,454 head teachers in the state on Covid-19 preventive measures.

According to him, the training was held between Tuesday, September 8, and Thursday, September 10, 2020, across all education zones in the state.

Adeniran said “the training is complementing Oyo state government’s efforts in containing the spread of Covid-19 pandemic as the state government had earlier organised and funded training of school administrators on Covid-19 preventive measures for both primary and secondary school teachers.”

He said the state government’s zeal “is to prepare head teachers for a safe and hitch-free re-opening of schools and learning facilities, while it takes into consideration the health, safety, environmental protection and security of learners, teachers, education personnel and families.”

Speaking further, Adeniran said the state government proactively aligned some of its policies and actions along with federal government, international agencies in order to prevent the escalation of the disease within school environment and the entire populace.
