Security advice ‘ll determine corps members’ posting – NYSC DG

The Director General National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Brigadier General Shuaib Ibrahim has stated that corps members posing will be done according advice from the security agencies.

Addressing the press on Tuesday during the opening ceremony of the 2021 Batch ‘A’ Pre-orientation Course Workshop held at the Global Village Suite, Nasarawa state, he said the safety of corps members is paramount to the scheme.

“We are in collaboration with the security agencies hence the posting of corps members to states of the federation will be guided by advice from the security agencies.

“The security of the corps members is our highest concern. We will take corps members to where we are advised by the security agencies because the security of corps members is paramount to us,” he said.

Addressing delegates at the workshop, Ibrahim said all the orientation camps had been put in conditions that would allow seamless conduct of the orientation exercise in line with the approved COVID-19 prevention guidelines.

He said the theme of the workshop: “Managing Corps Population in the Orientation Camp in the Context of the New Normal,” has become apt.

Nasarawa state Governor Abdullahi Sule, who was represented by the Commissioner of Youth and Sport, Hon. Othman Bala Adam, commended the efforts of the scheme towards enhancing the viability and relevance of the scheme.
