A member of the House of Representatives, Hon Abiodun Awoley, yesterday advised Nigerians to give dialogue a chance and always embrace peace as it is clear that insecurity is now Nigeria’s major problem.
The lawmaker, representing Ibadan North Federal Constituency, stated this in his Easter message made available to newsmen in Ibadan. He emphasized that for Nigeria to overcome this major problem, peace must be allowed to reign supreme across the country.

According to the All Progressives Congress (APC) lawmaker, the nation’s “political, social and economic development can only thrive in an atmosphere of peace, harmony and unity” hence the need for “all of to work together to embrace peace and work for the survival of the country”.

Awoleye condemned the spate of killings of innocent Nigerians, especially the last week bombing at Nyanya area of Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory.
“Nyanya bomb blast is not only sad but inhuman, we know that our number one problem is insecurity, all of us must work together to embrace peace and work for the survival of the country so as to overcome various challenges such as insecurity, decay in education, health, aviation, transportation, agriculture and power sectors, unemployment, corruption and bad governance,” he said.

The lawmaker then charged Nigerians to use the period of Easter celebrations to pray for the country to overcome the numerous socio-economic and political challenges facing it as well as using the festive period to reflect on the challenges confronting Nigeria as a country.
