Security operatives rescue 10 kidnapped victims in Kuje

Ten kidnapped victims by the armed bandits that invaded Darka and Wani/Gadi villages in Gudu Karya ward of Kuje Area Council have been rescued by the joint security operation led by the Nigerian Police.
The rescue operation carried out by the team of 250 personnel comprising of Army, Police DSS and the NSCDC routed the kidnappers and destroyed their camps.
Six persons were adopted in Darka village in Kuje Area Council by unknown gunmen suspected to be Fulani herdsmen, while  five more persons were kidnapped in  Huni-Gade, five kilometers away from the Darka village.
The suspected herdsmen on re-launched attached on Huni Gade community, five kilometers away from Darka community, kidnapping five more men to unknown destination, bringing the number to 11 persons.
Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). Malam Muhammad Bello who made this disclosure yesterday said the rescued persons were in the custody of the Gbomo of Kuje including a 10-year-old girl.
He said that the administration in its earlier comments did not give details of the attack to avoid jeopardising the lives of the victims of kidnapping knowing that the successful operation was underway.According to him, eight of the kidnap victims were rescued Sunday night while the other two were rescued early yesterday, describing the operation as successful.
He noted that a member of the rescue team and staff of the NSCDC was lost in the operation.
Bello, posited  the operation was in two phases which included the rescue of the kidnapped victims and the ongoing vigorous patrol of the forests and mountains of the FCT which the bandits have made a safe haven to operate.
Speaking earlier on the motive of the crime, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Mustapha said money informed their criminal act.
He added that the areas became habitable for the criminals because the security agencies failed in their responsibility.
