Selfish politicians exited APC – Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari has said the weak and selfish politicians who could not align themselves with the vision of the present administration have exited the ruling All Progressives Congress.
The President said this when he received the N45 million Nomination and Expression of Interest forms for his reelection, purchased by a political group, Nigerian Consolidation Ambassadors Network (NCAN), at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
He commended the group, made up of youth from different parts of the country, for obtaining the forms for him.
The president said he had to come out of retirement to realise his vision to rescue the country in 2002 in the build up to the 2003 presidential elections.
He said: “I am honoured today to receive youths from all over the country contributing to buy the form for me.
The weakest whose sense of expectation do not align with our vision have exited our party.
We now have a party of strong and patriotic people who are ready to work for a strong Nigeria.” Giving a rundown of what the administration has done in three years, the President said it has so far completed rail project with new ones under construction, and provided support for farmers, including the rehabilitation of fertiliser plants.
He said the government also implemented the Treasury Single Account (TSA) which, he said, has reduced stealing in public service.
In his remarks, Deputy Chairman of NCAN, Mr.
Chuckwuemeka Nwajiuba, said the three million members of the group contributed as little as N68 to purchase the form after an assessment of the president’s performance.
He said the President’s commitments to the fight against corruption, the fight against terrorism and the rejuvenation of the economy were some of the reasons that spurred the group to pay for the forms.
He said: “Nigerians for the first time in many years could see a leader who painstakingly took decisions solely on the basis of national interest, above his or anyone else’s.
A leader who belongs to all and behoving to our country and to God only, who in His infinite mercy brought our president back from the brink of death and restored him to strength and vigour.
“These Ambassadors whose network seeks to consolidate these gains and engrain this focus, then decided to contribute their intellect, and little earnings towards ensuring that our president is encouraged to continue this service, as it is now apparent the real beneficiaries of all the toil and tenacity of purpose that now radiates from this leader, in spite of the hue and cry from a vociferous few whose stranglehold on our commonwealth has become somewhat dislodged.
“It is on account of the resolve of these that the ambassadors proceeded to obtain the nomination form for the president from the All Progressives Congress, to encourage Mr.
President to seek to be re-elected for another term to help consolidate the work he is doing.
“As those who have championed BUHARI…SHIP (Sincerity to one another, Honesty in all dealings, Integrity in all conduct and Performance in all service), from the onset in late 2002, through daunting travails and to this point where we all press for the consolidation of its gains.
This trust is solemn and we will continue to keep it.” Oshiomhole sure of victory In a related development, National Chairman of the APC, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, has said that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its presidential aspirants were jittery ahead the 2019 general elections.
For him, President Buhari had already won the presidential election with the support already received by 12.2million rice farmers across the country, who are registered voters.
He made the declaration while addressing the Rice Farmers Association of Nigeria, who visited him to present a cheque of N56.8million as their contribution for the president’s re-election bid in Abuja.
The farmers were led on the visit by the Governor of Kebbi State, Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, who is the grand patron of the association, and it’s National President, Aminu Goronyo.
Goronyo, who explained that their contribution was in appreciation of the over N100billion loan facilities the Buhari-led administration gave to the farmers, said they will contribute more funds to ensure Buhari’s re-election.
Also speaking, Governor Bagudu, who commended the efforts made so far by the APCled government under Buhari in encouraging rice farming in the country, said the efforts had yielded fruit as the cost of a bag of rice today is N13, 000 just as he said that most of the farmers are today millionaires.
Speaking at the event, Comrade Oshiomhole said, “our opponents are jittery.
When some faceless people contributed money for one of the aspirants of PDP, he looked at them and said, ‘I have enough to buy all of you,’ he cried a little bit just for the effect.
“Not a word was spoken in the media about the morality or the legality or illegality of it.
I thought the media will ask the morality of those who have nothing giving to the rich.
Nothing.
When our own President who does not have, some people decided to raise money to buy his form, suddenly it became an issue that why should people buy nomination forms for aspirants? “But let me say that we need Nigerians who are committed to policy stability and who believe in a candidate to raise fund not only for the form, but for the mass mobilization.
In the case of our President, he will even need more money because our party’s decision is that we have to organise direct primaries and we need money.
“But I am glad it is the confidence Nigerians have on the leadership of our President that different groups contributing money for his campaign.
