Sen. Binos embarks on free medical outreach to 6,000 constituents

 

 

 In line with his promise to carried out free medical outreach to his constituents in all the nine local governments that make up his senatorial district, the Senator representing Adamawa south, Senator Binos Dauda Yaroe, has carried out another free medical outreach in Numan local government area.

No fewer than 6,228 people benefited from the outreach. This brings the total number of local governments in Adamawa south that benefited from this interventions to five local governments consisting of Ganye, Demsa, Guyuk, Mayo Belwa and Numan councils with over 27,O000 beneficiaries. This leaves the remaining 4 councils of Toungo, Shelleng, Jada and Lamurde.

Speaking at the end of the 3- day free medical outreach  in an interview with journalists in Numan council after moving round to see the conditions of the patients attended to, Senator Binos  described the exercise as a huge successes.

He said the turnout was beyond his expectations because they expected 5,000 people, but there were over 6000 beneficiaries.

He further noted that his decision to give priority to health is in view of its importance to the lives of his people. He said this enabled him to reach the largest number of his constituents at the same time.

“I keep on saying that my own priority is in the health sector. I discovered that the best way I can intervene  is to provide free medical outreach. I don’t have the resources to build hospitals and equip them. So, the best we can do is to get professionals outside the state to work hand- in- hand with personnel in the locations we go and provide free medical services to people,” he said.

Also speaking, the Principal Medical Officer (PMO) of Numan General Hospital,  Dr.Tanko Betwell, said  the exercised was successful.
