Sen Maccido ‘ready to disgrace APC’

Senator Ahmed Mohammed Maccido, representing Sokoto Central Senatorial district, has dismissed APC’s allegation of portraying the Sultanate as partisan, saying, “APC’s claim was nothing but tissues of lies, deceits, treacherous and perfidious.”

A statement issued by Mohammed Arzika Kammata, said Maccido “is a politician of refute with quality representation, therefore, would never resort to the use of the caliphate’s name in his politicking.”

The statement added that the accusation of the APC was unnecessary and aimed at distracting the Senator who had been very focused in providing the dividends of democracy to his constituency.

According the statement, making of such baseless accusation is clearly an act of antagonists of the Caliphate who are held bent on creating acrimony, animosity and ill will between the royal families of the revered traditional institution that has remained focused and relevant for the past 200 years.

The statement said: “To put records straight, nowhere in the said interview had the Distinguished Senator Ahmad Maccido linked the Sultanate Council to any politician or any political party, but said considering his principles and policies of consultations, after contacts with the institution, he realised that the best bet for that institution was for him to remain in the PDP.”

Kammata said Senator Maccido was talking about his political ideology and inclination is more of a PDP as a party than any other political flat form that has no focus and sincerity to take the Nigerians to the promise land.

The Senator’s spokesperson said reason for Maccido’s unflinching support and loyalty to the PDP, the party gave him chance twice to represent his constituency in the Senate should never be misunderstood.

“The truth of the matter is that, as a member of the royal family of the Sokoto Caliphate and traditional titled holder of the Mainan Sokoto, Senator Maccido has held and will continue to hold the revered traditional institution of Sokoto Caliphate in high esteem, believing that the Sultanate Council is a non-partisan institution that treats everybody equally without recourse to being a member of ruling or opposition party.”
The statement, however, said electorate in the Senatorial district had faith and confidence in Maccido’s representation and ever ready to disgrace APC in 2015.
