Members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Abia Central have appreciated Senator Theodore Orji’s quality representation of the district at the senate and have accordingly rewarded him with an endorsement for second tenure.
Stakeholders and leaders of the party in the district declared over the weekend at a rally held at Okpuala Ngwa in Isiala Ngwa North LGA that the senator had done enough to deserve a return to the upper chamber.
Speaker after speakers endorsed Senator Orji to go back to the Senate in 2019 noting that he and Governor Okezie Ikpeazu have performed well within the period under review to get their endorsement for 2019
The stakeholders of the six local governments that make up the Abia Central District, who spoke at the occasion that drew mammoth crowd, extolled the contributions of the duo noting that they had given the people dividends of democracy.
The Speaker of Abia House of Assembly, Chikwendu Kalu, noted with satisfaction that Senator Orji has given the people of Abia central effective representation in the senate therefore deserves second tenure in the senate.
He noted that all those who spoke before him had said the obvious that the PDP members at the state and National Assemblies and Governor Ikpeazu have done well and called on his party members to close rank to ensure total victory of their party at all levels in the emerging political dispensation.
Dr Geshon Amuta, a political leader from Isiala Ngwa South, also commended Senator Orji, Gov Ikpeazu and other PDP members in the elective positions stressing that they have done the people proud, but emphasised the need for each leader to delivers his area pointing out that individually and collectively, the PDP will also emerge victorious come 2019.
Chief Obinna Nwachukwu, the PDP vice chairman, Abia central said Senator Orji did well as former Governor of the state and is also doing pretty well as a senator and should continue with his good work at the senate.
The zonal chairman expressed optimism the mammoth crowd turned out at the rally was an attestation that Abia is a PDP state.
Nwachkwu, who is from Osisioma Ngwa LGA, assured of the support of Abia central to Orji, Ikpeazu’ and other PDP members that will fly the flag of the party .
Similarly, Chief Uzodinma Okpara, son of Late Premier of Eastern Region from Umuahia North, Arch Rev Benson Ezem, formerly the state chairman of the PDP from Umuahia South and Chief Henry Ikoh from Ikwuano also eulogised the sterling qualities of Senator Orji d the LGAs to endorse the senator.
Responding, Senator Orji thanked them for the confidence reposed on him and promised not to disappoint his party members and people of Abia central senatorial district.
