The Senator Southern Kaduna Senatorial zone, Senator Danjuma La’ah Tela, has stated the need for the government to make youth empowerment and development as one of its paramount agenda to develop their skills absolutely which is necessary for living in the modern world.
La’ah made the stress in Kaura, Kaura local government area of Kaduna state at the occasion of WATYAP Kaura Day Annual Cultural Festival, during the weekend.
He observed that the youth constituted the core of every society, and if not developed, will pose a great challenge to National development taking into consideration the rate of youth that are taking hard drugs and alcohol.
He said he has always taken youth empowerment with all seriousness, and will not relent in that effort as he has another program coming up, to develop youth and culture in his Senatorial zone.
While commending the people of Kaura for organising the festival, he noted that, culture is the totality of the way of life of all people, adding that the people of Southern Kaduna are blessed with rich cultural heritage that if harnessed very well, can compete with any in the world.
The Senator then appreciate the people for living peacefully despite the security challenges bedeviling the area, against which backdrop he urged them to continue on that tempo assuring them of his readiness to surmount the challenges to the barest minimum anytime the need arises.
