Senator representing Nasarawa South senatorial district at the National Assembly, Senator Suleiman Adokwe, has warned Governor Umaru Al-Makura of Nasarawa state to stop playing politics with human lives and act fast to bring an end to killings of innocent people in the state.
He gave the warning yesterday while sympathising with the Internal Displaced Persons (IDPs) at his home town Agwatashi in Obi local government area of the state.
Adokwe expressed sadness over the killings of innocent people particularly the Tiv community in the state, noting that “even when the President was in the state shootings were still going on in the bush and villages, people were killed but nobody cares to drew the attention of Mr. President in that regard.
“The sooner the government keeps it words that it will send military experts to come around to crash this thing once and for all, the better for everybody because they left people with no choice but to ran helter-skelter”, he said.
He said for quite sometimes now impression has been created by the state government that nothing was going wrong in the state, but he described the situation as unfortunate and government should not capitalise on human mystery in order to play politics.
“What we are seeing here is real and these people most go back to where they will pursue their legitimate earning.
“Whoever is the chief security officer of the state it is his duty to draw the attention of the President to what is going on in the state and stop playing politics with people’s life because that is the politics that we do not like” Adokwe lamented.
He was at his village to inform the Nigerian public on the human misery taking place in his senatorial zone and to call the attention of his colleagues at the National Assembly to the fact that what is happening in Benue is also happening in Nasarawa state.
