Senegal propose friendly with Super Eagles in June

Senegal are in talks with Nigeria for a friendly next month in Austria following the postponement of 2022 World Cup qualifiers across Africa.

The second round of the World Cup qualifiers was originally fixed to begin next month, but a CAF emergency committee meeting has since shifted it to September on account of the coronavirus pandemic and sub-standard stadiums.

That has thrown open the June friendly window.

Eagles coach Gernot Rohr will therefore have a chance to try out several uncapped players like Terem Moffi, Sadiq Umar and Michael Olise ahead of the World Cup qualifiers.

The coach had earlier closed the door on such an experiment because the World Cup qualifiers were due to resume next month.

Last October, Nigeria took on Algeria and Tunisia in friendlies in Austria.
