Seplat leads gainers as market appreciates by N2bn

 

Seplat Petroleum Development Company Plc yesterday recorded the highest gain at the Nigerian Stock Exchange , gaining N10.00 to close at N540.00, Redstarex followed with a gain of N0.40 kobo to close at N4.80 kobo, Guaranty Trust Bank gained N0.40 kobo to close at N32.10 kobo, Custodian and Investment Plc added N0.35 kobo to close at N6.50 kobo Oando Plc advanced by N0.30 kobo to close at N4.70 kobo.

Presco Plc topped losers chart, dropping by N2.00 to close at N60.00, Cement Company of Northern Nigeria (CCNN) trailed with a loss of N1.90 kobo to close at N25.00, Nigerian Breweries fell by N1.00 to close at N80.00, United Bank for Africa down by N0.10 kobo to close at N7.25 kobo while NEM insurance declined by N0.10 kobo to close at N2.50 kobo.

The trading activities showed that Market Capitalisation of listed equities increased by N2 billion  to N11.462 trillion from N11.460 trillion traded on Monday. The NSE All Share Index also grew by 4.16 basis points to 30736.88 points from 30732.72 points recorded the previous day.

An analysis of the investment revealed that Diamond Bank Plc recorded the highest volume of activities during the day, trading 71.584 million shares valued at N149.049 million, Access Bank followed with account of 26.997 million shares worth N151.130 million, Guaranty Trust Bank traded 26.567 million shares cost N847.788 million, United Bank for Africa exchanged 21.963 million shares valued at N159.782 million while FBNHoldings 16.944 million shares worth N123.622 million.

In all Investors traded a turnover of 245.987 million shares valued at N2.443 billion in 3320 deals against 499.211 million shares worth N5.531 billion exchanged hands the previous day in 3874 deals.
