Seplat Petroleum leads losers table, equity market gains N3bn

Seplat Petroleum Development Company yesterday recorded the loss during the day, shedding N13.70 kobo to close at N571.40 kobo, Total Nigeria Plc trailed with a loss of N11.00 to close at N217.00, Mobil Oil fell by N9.50 kobo to close at N180.50 kobo, Dangote Cement down by N1.00 to close at M259.00 while United Bank for Africa declined by N0.45 kobo to close at N12.50 kobo.
On the contrary, International Breweries led gainers table, growing by N2.85 kobo to close at N59.85 kobo, PZ Industries followed with a gain of N1.15 kobo to close at N24.15 kobo, Nascon Industries appreciated by N1.05 kobo to close at N21.60 kobo, Guaranty Trust Bank advanced by N0. 75 kobo to close at N49.35 kobo, Redstarex added N0.30.kobo to close at N6.30 kobo.
Trading activities for the day showed that the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) All share index increased by 8.59 basis points to 42579.48 points from 42570.89 points recorded on Friday. Market capitalisation of listed equities also added N3 billion to N15.280 trillion from N15.277 trillion reported previously.
Investors during the day traded 384.263 million shares worth N5.473 billion in 4774 deals against 308.429 million shares valued at N6.402 billion exchanged hands the previous day in 4356 deals.
A review of the trading activities for the day showed Cement Company of Northern Nigeria was the most active stock during g the day, trading 134.896 million shares worth N2.252 billion, Transnational Corporation of Nigeria followed with account of 34.150 million shares valued at N71.041 million, FBNHoldings traded 21.778 million shares cost N250.074 million, Access Bank sold 20.575 million shares worth N 270.028 million while Fidelity Bank exchanged 20.496 million shares worth N 61.303 million.
