SERVICOM urges INEC to change nation’s narrative

The National Coordinator of SERVICOM, Mrs Nnenna Akajemeli has urged the management of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to change the narratives of the electioneering process through its various platforms that would guarantee a citizen-focused service delivery mechanism in the country.

Mrs Akajemeli stated this when she attended the sensitisation programme of the INEC SERVICOM committee members and the launching of INEC Service Charter in Abuja, recently.

In a statement issued to Blueprint Monday, the SERVICOM boss was quoted as further explaining that the charter includes expectations from the customer towards fulfilling the commitment of the organisation, and that its implementation would determine how well the INEC is positioned to improve on the services provided to the citizenry.

While speaking on the implementation of the service charter, the national coordinator added that power should be delegated properly to members of staff to enable them discharge their responsibilities with the expected degree of efficiency, effectiveness and timeliness.

Akajemeli said the SERVICOM unit has a substantive Nodal Officer and full complement of staff to drive the service delivery initiative in the commission, whereas comment cards and complaints tracking mechanism are in use to harvest feedback from customers and for prompt resolution of complaints.
