APC’s Shadalafiya wins Kaduna Assembly re-run, PDP pulls surprise in Sanga

A former Deputy Speaker, Kaduna State House of Assembly, Honourable Nuhu Goro Shadalafiya, and candidate of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) has won the re-run election into the State Assembly, representing Kagarko local government constituency which held on Saturday.

Nuhu Goro polled 24,658 votes defeating Tanko Morondia of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) who’s bid to retain his seat in the Kaduna State House of Assembly was dashed after getting 20,206 votes.

Shadalafiya was declared winner by the Constituency Returning Officer, Dr Haruna Aminu, a lecturer from the Ahmadu Bello University Zaria.

Similarly, the candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Mrs Comfort Amwe has won the Sanga local government re-run election into the Kaduna State House of Assembly after defeating Haliru Gambo of the All Progressive Congress, (APC).

Comfort Amwe scored 19,815 votes beating Haliru who got 19,688 and was declared winner by the Independent Electoral Commission (INEC).

Cross section of voters who spoke after the election observed that, the exercise was free and fair.
