Shake-up in Kano civil service, as Ganduje drops 33 Perm Secs

Kano State governor Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has Thursday relieved  all the 33 Permanent Secretaries  currently serving in the state civil service   of  their  appointment  in the quest to re-invigorate the performance of the service for enhanced productivity and service delivery to take proper shape

In a letter signed by the state Head of Service, Alhaji Muhammad Auwal Nai’ya, the  33 Permanent Secretaries affected were expected to  prepare and hand-over the mantle of leadership to the most senior officer in the ministry or parastanal affected on or before 8 May 2019, for a smooth transition to be effected.

According to the letter, Directors on grade level-16 were at a liberty to apply for the post of Permanent Secretary, while the ones affected  were also allowed to re-apply for the post, as they were all directed to report to the office of the State Head of Service for redeployment to other organs of the government.

The letter however concluded that relieving them of their appointments was in fulfillment of the commitment of governor Abdullahi Ganduje administration of repositioning the state civil service  on a promising pedestal for the quest of effective and vibrant service delivery to be ensured.
