Shakes-up in Nigeria Prison Service, Attah takes over FCT

The Controller General of Nigeria Prisons Service (NPS) Ahmed Jaafaru has appointed Mustapha Attah to take over the helm of affairs of the agency’s Federal Capital Territory (FCT) command from Sylvester Nwakuche, who has been redeployed to the national headquarters.

A statement signed Saturday in Abuja by the FCT command’s spokesman, Chukwuebo Humphrey, said the posting was necessitated by the promotion of Nwakuche in the rank of Assistant Controller General of Prisons and his subsequent posting to the administration office of National headquarters.

“Prior to this, CP Mustapha Attah has  upon his arrival from foreign mission in 2009 been made officer in charge of Enugu Prison, Controller of Taraba state, Ekiti state and most recently, he was the Controller of Niger state.

“CP Attah, while addressing the staff,  promised to build on the open door policy of the Controller General of Prisons Ahmed Jaafaru and to further contribute his best in securing the FCT and its environs.”
