Shelved strike: IPMAN hails FG, organised Labour

The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) has commended the federal government and the organised Labour on successful deliberations which ensured that proposed strike and protest were averted.

Led by Alhaji Sanusi Abdu Fari, IPMAN in a statement on Monday further expressed happiness on the approach adopted by both parties in resolving the issues relating to electricity and fuel price increase.

The statement which IPMAN President personally signed however, called, “on the federal government to try as much as possible to continue engaging the organised labour as agreed for the good of the citizenry.

“IPMAN as a key stakeholder in the downstream sector of our economy is ever ready to partner and collaborate with Federal Government in alleviating the suffering of the masses as a result of this increase in pump price of PMS.

“We thank the Hon. Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Chief Timipre Sylva for his cooperation and assistance to IPMAN towards keying into the Gas Expansion Program of his Ministry.

“We promise to support the federal government by making available and upgrading our facilities for storage and sale of Compressed Natural Gas (Auto Gas) and LPG.

“We are willing to access all the credit facilities as announced by the Ministry for this program.

“We thank our BOT Chairman, Chief Obasi Lawson , other BOT members, leadership of NARTO and NUPENG for their solidarity and support.

“We therefore call on our members to continue to serve the public for the good and progress of our dear country, Nigeria.”
