The Deputy president of the Senate, Ovie Omo-Agege, has felicitated with the party’s vice-presidential candidate, Senator Kashim Shettima, on his 56th birthday.
In a congratulatory message released in Abuja Friday, Omo-Agege who is the All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial candidate for the 2023 general election, described Shettima as “a highly respected politician, patriot and leader.”
He acknowledged the outstanding roles played by the former Borno state governor and the lawmaker representing Borno Central Senatorial District.
According to him, Shettima has distinguished himself in various positions in his state in particular and Nigeria in general.
“From serving as commissioner in five ministries in Borno state to two-term governor and senator, Shettima has been faultless, unblemished and exemplary.
“To your credit are many laurels including 2014 Governor of the Year (Leadership Newspaper); Governor of the Year, 2015, (Nigeria Union of Journalists, National Body); Governor of the Year, 2015 (NewsWatch Times); Governor of the Year, 2015 (Vanguard newspapers); Governor of the Year, 2016 (Tell magazine); 2017 Zik Prize for Leadership; Kaduna NUJ Award for courage and exceptional leadership (2017), FCT NUJ Merit Award for exceptional Leadership, 2017. The list is indeed endless.
“While wishing Your Excellency a happy birthday celebration, I pray to God Almighty to continue to keep you in good health and bless you with many more years of robust service to Nigeria,” he said.
