Shettima flags off 100 housing units for Bama IDPs

Governor Kashim Shettima of Borno state yesterday flagged off the construction of 100 units 3- room worth N60 million, donated by the Mohammed Indimi Foundation (MIF), for families of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Bama local government area of the state.
The occasion took place at the multipurpose hall, Government House, Maiduguri.
The governor commended Indimi for the gesture, saying government was fully committed to ensuring the safe return of all IDPs back to their liberated communities.
In his welcome address, Chairman of the Foundation, Mohammed Indimi said the body was established to address quality education, healthcare, food and shelter as well as provision of relief materials in crisis situations.
He said the lingering Boko Haram insurgency had left millions of IDPs displaced and in dare need of food and shelter, pointing out that through modest activities and initiatives like the one done by the Foundation, many in of those in need had been assisted.
He disclosed that the Foundation was set to build another 100 units of 3- room houses for IDPs in Gamboru Ngala local government area of the state.
He, therefore, called on philanthropic organisations and individuals to assist Borno state in its reconstruction and rebuilding of communities destroyed by the insurgents.
