Shinkafi, 14LG chairs, 147wards chairmen set to dump APGA for APC in Zamfara

The national secretary Board of Trustees of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), Alhaji Sani Abdullahi Shinkafi, along with 14 local government chairmen,147 wards chairmen of the party in Zamfara state have decided to dump the party and follow Zamfara state Governor Bello Mohammed Matawalle, to the All Progressives Congress APC on Tuesday.

Shinkafi made the declaration Monday at his residence in Gusau, while addressing the state executives Council of the APGA comprising all 14 local government party chairmen, 147 wards chairmen .

He said he his dumping APGA for APC in order to help Governor Matawalle develop the state for the betterment of the people of the state.

“We didn’t join APC for material gaining and we would contribute immensely towards ensuring every Zamfara State citizen enjoy the dividend of democracy and address the lingering insecurity challenges we are facing in our dear state”. Said Shinkafi

Blueprint reported that Shinkafi a former Governorship candidate of APGA and the Secretary of the party’s Board of Trustees(BOT) had in a letter to the National Secretary of the party last week announced his resignation as a member of the party and Secretary of the BOT.

“My decision to resign was made after due consultation with my supporters, my family members, my political associates in Zamfara State and other Nigerians who form my part of my support base”. He added.

In her address, Zamfara state women leader of the APGA, Hajiya Halima Abdullahi said, all women from APGA in the state have unanimously back the decision of Alhaji Sani Abdullahi Shinkafi and Governor Bello Mohammed Matawalle to join APC, saying it is for the wellbeing of vulnerable women in the state.
