Shocker! 27-year-old man sells 3-day old own baby for N150,000


Anambra State police command has arrested one Mr Chukwuma Enemuo, aged 27, for allegedly selling his 3-day old baby for N150,000.

The suspect, who hails from Okwutu Amawka village, Ozubulu in Ekwusigo LGA was nabbed on June 24 at about 7:pm by police detectives attached to Ozubulu division for allegedly conspiring with a-45-year-old man, Mr Obi Chidubem of Umuabuche Eziama village uli in Ihiala LGA to perfect the act.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer, Haruna Muhammed, the three days old baby boy was sold  to one Mrs Anulika Okafor, aged 39 years of Uruokwe village, Ozubulu.

“The Suspect lied to his wife one Mrs Oluchi Enemuo, aged 20, by telling her that the baby is dead shortly after delivery. Meanwhile, all the three suspects have been arrested, the baby was also recovered and case is under investigation after which, the suspects would be charged to Court for prosecution,” said, the PPRO.

He also confirmed arrest of suspected rapists, Mr Okwuchukwu Anyanwu, aged 36 and Mr Emeka Odoh,’ aged 25, all of Ezi Umunya in Oyi LGA of Anambra State. 

“Suspects had on the 23/6/2019 at about 11am took advantage of  one Nwanneka Nwaizu aged ‘f’ aged 23years,a mentally challenged girl and had Unlawful Carnal Knowledge with her. The scene was visited by the Police and Victim taken to General Hospital Onitsha for medical examination. Case is under Investigation after which suspects would be charged to Court for prosecution,” he said.

“On the 24 June, 2019 following intelligence report, Police detectives attached to ‘B’ Division Awka arrested the following syndicate who specializes in burglary and shop breaking, Kasim Bala ‘m’ aged 48yrs and Mr Uche Nwankwo, aged 24 years all of Ndiora Ezinato , Amansea in Awka North LGA of Anambra State. 

“Suspects who specializes in burglary and shop breaking were arrested at Ndiora, Amansea and their houses searched where the following properties reasonably suspected to have been stolen were recovered; four plastic chairs property of one Francis Ufele, one big-size Samsung TV property one Dr Donatus Onwu.

“One LG TV, one Philip TV, one Samsung TV, three speakers, one extension wire, one DVD player, one Nokia cell phone, one Tecno cell phone and, one pressing iron. Effort is ongoing to identify owners of the remaining properties after which suspects would be charged to Court for prosecution,” he further revealed.
