Shocker! Kogi gov walks out state’s Chief Judge from govt house as Judiciary workers still wallow in ‘no salary penury’

The Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, on Monday walked out on the Chief Judge of the state, Justice Nasiru Ajanah, during the swearing in of new Grand Gadi of the state at government house, Lokoja.

The Chief Judge who was officially invited by the protocol officer of government house was seated before the arrival of the governor.

However, before the arrival of the governor,  the Chief Security Officer to the governor approached the Chief Judge and informed him that the governor gave a directive that he should not be allowed to attend the function.

The Chief Judge, Justice Nasiru Ajanah, quietly left government house back to his office to avoid any embarrassment.

Meanwhile, after calling off strike, Kogi Judiciary is yet to get salary as the subvention/salary have not been paid to the staffers of judiciary untll the time of filling this report.

Consequently, the Elders met with the Secretary to Kogi State Government, (SSG) Dr. Mrs Folashade Arike, on Monday for further dialogue.

According to the elders, it was agreed that the current administration would pay salaries for five months by cheque during the biometric data capturing.

But the Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN) is demanding for one month salary before data capturing.
