Shun anti-social behaviour, or risk expulsion, UniAbuja warns students

The newly admitted  students of the University of Abuja (UniAbuja)  have been urged not to engage in anti-social  behaviour and respect the laws, statutes and regulations of the institution or risk  expusion. The vice chancellor of the university, Prof. Abdul-Rasheed Na-Allah, gave the warning during the matriculation ceremony for the 2020/2021 academic session at the university.Prof. Na-Allah said the university community cannot thrive or deliver quality education without complete peace, cooperation of stakeholders and understanding from students and staff. He added that mentoring activities had been introduced as part of the school curriculum to help students develop skills and business ideas that would be useful to them after graduation. Out of thousands of applications received, only 4,311 eligible students were granted admission for the academic session, he said. He assured that the university will encourage the students  to attain the highest level of excellence in their academic pursuits.”Your parents did not send you to this university to still depend on them when you come back. Every one of you must acquire entrepreneurial skills to enable you become independent when you graduate from this university.

“This is one of the reasons why this university frowns against bad ethics among students. We are not tolerant of any act of indiscipline, we are not tolerant of laziness, we are not tolerant of cultism, we are not tolerant of destructive behaviour because this institution is a model university and we encourage our students to grow to the highest levels,” he said. The new students were admitted to 10 faculties of agriculture, law, social sciences, engineering, among others.
