Shun violence, fear God, cleric tells youths in Akwa Ibom

The Resident Pastor of Redeem Christian Church of God (RCCG) Pastor Edet Eneh has urged Nigerian youths to shun violence and fear God who made the heaven and the earth.

Eneh made the disclosure during the official commissioning of the “Hope of Glory” parish building of the church in Uyo on Sunday.

Condemning the spates of kidnapping, banditry and other heinous crimes trying to bring the country to it’s knees, he admonished them to be obedient to constituted authorities.

The clergy said the people were going on the wrong direction as against the will of God, thereby giving up themselves to the devil to manipulate, and eventually use them to afflict pains on innocent people.

Eneh assured that when the country has people that fear God, there would be less kidnapping, banditry and criminalities.

“When we have people that fear God, the spate of kidnapping, banditry and other criminal acts would certainly be minimized and abandoned, and the society would certainly, turn to a better place,” he said.

He added that the over 1,000 capacity building commissioned was targeted at discipling people for the kingdom of God.

In his homily, the visiting Pastor of the Church, Pastor Richard Adebayo, reading from Haggi 2 vs 6 -9, urged Nigerians never to loose hope because of the current situation the country was facing.

Adebayo said irrespective of the challenges people may be going through, “the beauty of the past is in the future.

“Our life is a project in God’s hands. He never jattison nor abandoned his project.Men may promise and fail because they are limited in time and space, but God is never limited.

“Be confident and strong because God had started the year with us.The adversity of the past is not the final destination but for better tomorrow.”
