Silver –winning Eagles return from Morocco

Players and officials of the home-based Super Eagles have arrived in the country following their participation at the 2018 African Nations Championship in Morocco where they won the silver medal. Salisu Yusuf’s charges came second in the tournament after going down to a 4-0 defeat to hosts Morocco in the final on Sunday in Casablanca.

The team, touched down at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport (MMIA), Lagos at about 3:45am on Tuesday morning via an Air Maroc flight. The team was led by chairman, Technical Committee of the Nigeria Football Federation, Ahmed Yusuf and other members of the Executive Committee.

The Eagles was received on arrivals by officials of the Nigeria Football Federation, including former Nigeria international Abdulrafi u Yusuf (Assistant Director, Technical) and Mr. Sunday Okayi (Assistant Director, Competitions).

Also on hand to welcome the team are members of the Nigeria Football Supporters club who laid siege at the airport all night in order to enable them receive them. The delegation was then flown to the Federal Capital, Abuja by the first flight out of Lagos.

The team is expected to be hosted by President Muhammadu Buhari in Abuja during the Federal Executive Committee meeting.
