Sit-at-home: Casualties recorded, total compliance in Ebonyi


Ebonyi state among other states in south-east zone Monday recorded total compliance of the sit at home order of Biafra.


Major streets in the state like water works road, Ogoja road, Afikpo road were business activities are always going on were all deserted.

Banks were closed, commercial motor parks were closed, fuel and gas station  and other business activities were all closed down.


The popular Vanco junction, Afikpo road and some roads where heavy traffic’s were usually recorded were all deserted.


Meanwhile when Blueprint visited Enugu- Abakaliki express way at around 10am the road was still deserted but very few motorcycle operator, try circles were seen applying the route, heavy duty vehicle’s were also spotted conveying good towards Enugu axis.

Schools in the state were all shot down and school managements sent short notices to parents informing them of the situation.

However there was report of gunshots at Ebebe junction along goddy Ogbaga road at Ebonyi local government and some axis of Ikwo local government areas respectively.


At Ebebe axis motorcycle, morist were said to be set ablaze with passers-by beaten up. It was also reported that police and some boys exchanged gunshots were a police officer was killed and four of the boys killed in return.


When contacted through phone call the State Police commissioner, Garba Aliyu direct our reporter to get every information from the police public relations officer, DSP Loveth Odah, but Odah did not pick her calls.
