Abia state Police Command has assured residents in the state of their safety as they go about their lawful duties against the backdrop of sit at home order issued by the Independent Peoples of Biafra ( IPOB) on 30th May,2019.

This was contained in Press statement signed by the Police Public relations Officer (PPRO) ,Abia state Police Command ,SP Geoffrey Ogbonna and made available to our correspondent in Umuahia.

He noted that the Commissioner of police, Abia state command,CP Ene Okon  pointed out that after reviewing the sit at home order of 30th May,2019 issued by IPOB and intelligent report received, there is need to assure the citizenry of their safety which he said must be guided jealously as contained in the constitution of Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Abia state Police Command therefore called on the residents in the state not to panic but to  go about their lawful businesses without fear as the police has put adequate security in place alongside other security agencies to ensure that their safety and property are safe guarded on the said day.

It also called on parents and guardians to warn their children and wards to stay clear of any act that may cause the breakdown of law and order hitherto enjoyed in the state, adding that the Police and other security agencies will not fold their hands to watch any break down of law and order.
