Six months after, FA passes verdict on Ekiti football

The gradual, but steady development of football in Ekiti State has been described as the much needed fillip that has been missing for so long in the history of football in the state.
According to a release by Ekiti FA media officer, Ayodeji Okunuga, the feelings and positive vibes pervading the state football community, starting November 18, 2019, makes it exactly 24 weeks that the present board of Ekiti State Football Association led by Bayo Olanlege, received the mandate in an election supervised by Alhaji Ibrahim Gusau representing Nigeria Football Federation.

Based on record, it has been 24 weeks of excitement, innovations and successfully executed programmes. The board kick-started its drive with the launch of some products including Ekiti State Football League that was sponsored by foremost gaming company, bet9ja; Youth Football Competition for U-15 boys and girls and a lecture on football management delivered by renowned football manager, Barrister Churchill Oliseh.

Unrelenting, the FA also organised a two- day training for grassroots football coach in the state and with one of the technical experts from the NFF, Siji Lagunju, as the resource person.

The FA went on to break the jinx of organising football league in the history of the state, just as it successfully organised the Bet9ja Ekiti State Football League with lots of fanfare, for the first time since the creation of the state, 23 years ago.
In the next few days, the FA would add to its fast growing credit pouch with the historic Dr. John Kayode Fayemi football competition for U15 boys and girls in the state tagged JKF Youth Cup.
