Sky Sports News crashed off air with their broadcast interrupted due to a fire alarm in their Middlesex studio.
Sky News was also affected, as SSN tweeted: “We apologise for the temporary loss of pictures on SSN, our broadcast has been interrupted by a fire alarm at Sky Studios.”
The broadcast, based in Isleworth, then showed a series of interviews with Leeds players before presenter Mike Wedderburn explained the absence.
Wedderburn said: “Hi everybody, apologies for the loss of transmission.
“We had a fire alarm, we’ve all be standing out in the cold and it’s really cold! But we’re back thankfully, all OK.”
Sky Sports News are currently on the hunt for a new presenter for their iconic Soccer Saturday.
It comes after Jeff Stelling – who has hosted Soccer Saturday since 1994 – confirmed he was stepping down.
Sky are yet to make a decision on who will replace Stelling, 66, but Mark Chapman remains a favourite.
Chapman, 48, has been with the BBC since 1996 and is among their top sports voices.
He currently hosts a string of shows on Radio 5Live, including The Monday Night Club, while he also presents Match of the Day 2 on a Sunday night.
As well as a new host, Soccer Saturday could be set for another influx of new pundits.
Their last major clearout came in 2020, when Charlie Nicholas, Phil Thompson and Matt Le Tissier were ditched for some fresh voices.
Old favourite Paul Merson has been joined in the studio by the likes of Michael Dawson, Clinton Morrison and Tim Sherwood.
