Skybird Gulfstream 4 incident: FAAN reopens runway

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has reopened the runway 22 of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja, it closed due to an accident.
It would be recalled that the runway was closed Tuesday at about 2200hours yesterday, after a Gulfstream 4 aircraft operated by Skybird that overshot the runway while landing.
It got stuck on the Runway End Safety Area (RESA).
General Manager, Corporate Affairs, Yakubu Henrietta in a press statement issued yesterday in Abuja assured airlines and passengers that the airport is now safe for normal operations.
She insisted that the agency is committed to her core values of Safety, Security and Comfort.
