SMEs: Sokoto to adopt Indonesian free-interest loan scheme – Tambuwal


Sokoto state government has mapped out strategies to provide job opportunities to its teeming youth roaming about the streets, the state Governor Aminu Waziri  Tambuwal has disclosed.

Governor Tambuwal stated this while receiving Sultan Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar lll when he paid him the traditional Sallah homage at the presidential lodge Sokoto

The governor also said his administration had concluded plans to adopt the Indonesian interest-free loan scheme for the benefit of small and medium scale business community.

Tambuwal said during his recent visit to Indonesia, he saw programmes that could be adopted for the benefit of the people.

 He said the state Zakkat and Endowment Commission would be run devoid of politics, adding that the commission would soon be constituted, comprising of people that do not have any political inclination.

On the security situation in the state, the governor told the monarchs that his government in collaboration with security agencies, would continue to adopt measures aimed at ensuring lasting peace in the state.

Tambuwal thanked the Sultan for his effective leadership and the sultanate council’s support to his administration.

Earlier in his address, Sultan Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar commended the governor and his lieutenants for the assistance being rendered to the people in various sectors.
