Social media rant: Neymar handed 3-game ban at Champions League

Paris Saint-Germain ace Neymar has been banned for three Champions League games following his foul-mouthed Instagram rant where he insulted officials.

The 27-year-old was left fuming after Les Parisiens were knocked out of Europe at the hands of Manchester United who were awarded a controversial late penalty.

Uefa subsequently launched an investigation over his antics, with the Brazilian to now miss three group stage games next season.

Presnel Kimpembe was penalised for a handball in the dying embers of the last-16 second leg tie, with VAR awarding the spot-kick.

Marcus Rashford stepped up to fire beyond the outstretched arms of Gianluigi Buffonin what capped a remarkable comeback for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side.

Neymar missed the clash through injury, but was in the stands cheering his team on, where he later had to be restrained by club staff in the tunnel as he failed to control his emotions after his side were dumped out.

He then took to social media to vent his anger, as he said: “This is a disgrace.

“They put four people that know nothing about football in charge of looking at the replay for VAR.

“There is no penalty. How can it be a handball when it hits his back!

“Go f*** yourselves!”

A Uefa statement declared: “The CEDB has decided to suspend the Paris Saint-Germain player Neymar Junior for three (3) Uefa competition matches for which he would be otherwise eligible, for insulting match officials.”

Neymar recently revealed his desire to play with Chelsea maestro Eden Hazard with the duo both linked with a move to Real Madrid.
