‘Sokoto govt to distribute 230 ambulances to dispensaries’

Sokoto state government has said that it had procured at least 230 ambulancesto be distributed to 230 dispensaries earlier constructed across the state, the Commissioner for local government and chieftaincy Affairs, lhaji Faruku Malami Yabo, has revealed.

The commissioner disclosed this at a sensitisation lectures and award presentation ceremony, organized by the Movement for Free Democracy MFD held at the auditorium of Sultan Muhammadu Maccido Institute for  Qur’anic and General Studies, Sokoto.
Alhaji Faruku Malami, who is also a recipient at the ceremony also, said state government has employed 1, 700  health personnel to man the dispensaries adding that staff quarters would be constructed in each dispensary.

He said the present administration was able to provide lives touching projects that have direct bearing to the common man in every nook and cranny of the state.

H e said: “No community in the whole of Sokoto state that did not enjoy one live touching project or the other, the Sokoto state government under His Excellency, Alhaji Aliyu Magatakardan Wamakko, was able to spread the dividends of democracy in all the 23 local governments of the state.

Earlier, in his welcome address, the Chairman of the Movement for Free Democracy, Alhaji Umaru Dan Masanin Bodinga, said the forum was established primarily to create awareness and sensitise members of thepublic on government’s policies and achievements recorded by Aliyu Magatakardan Wamakko’s administration in the last seven years of its reign.

According to Umaru Danmasani, Wamakko’s administration had reversed the neglect of education by renovating, equipping dilapidated schools and building more ones.

He said the government had also increased teaching allowances of students “so many of the boys and girls are now enrolled in schools courtesy of his efforts and programme which has witnessed great upsurge in school enrollments.”
